Project description

The SAT2Rescue project promotes the use of satellite communication by authorities and NGOs in disaster situations. The aim is to optimise emergency measures and telemedicine in humanitarian aid. To this end, a portable telecommunications satellite terminal is being developed that enables reliable communication even outside of mobile networks.

The fully automatic device is mobile, resistant to GNSS interference and can dynamically change satellites. It also supports the establishment of virtual networks. Operational scenarios such as a mountain, sea and urban rescues are being tested, with the software providing rescue centres with real-time situational awareness and geodata integration.
